What does it mean to be a Date For Life Bachelor/Bachelorette?

It means you’ll be taking center stage to raise funds for Children’s Cancer Research Fund! You’ll walk the catwalk alongside other Twin Cities singles – auctioning off fun and unique date packages all to benefit this amazing cause. Each year we select two dozen singles that are fun, outgoing, and dedicated to raising funds for a great cause while having a blast doing it!

Who covers the cost for my date package?

While you are responsible for creating your own date package, how you build it is completely up to you. Most of our Bachelors and Bachelorettes have the majority of their date packages donated by using their networks to build something unique and creative. However, you are welcome invest your own money into the package as well – it’s totally up to you how you want the package to come together.

What events do I need to attend?

There are two events we’ll see you at as a Bachelor and Bachlorette. Date For Life is on March 9th and is a must for both you and your promoter – it’s the main event! Two weeks prior to Date For Life we host a Mix and Mingle. This isn’t required for you to attend, but you won’t want to miss the chance to meet the other Bachelors and Bachlorettes and get a head start on soliciting bids!

What is a promoter?

A promoter is your wingman or wingwoman for the night. Each Bachelor and Bachelorette will select a promoter to help solicit bids the night of the event – they are there to sing your praises and drive up the bid. Historically, our most successful promoters are outgoing, creative with their sales pitch, have a huge heart for raising funds for charity, and enjoy a little friendly competition with other promoters.

What else is expected of me?

Our Bachelors and Bachlorettes are passionate and have huge hearts. We love seeing them personally invested in the event and using their voice and connections to make it a success. There are several ways you can do this – from social media posts promoting the event, to driving ticket sales by inviting friends and family to cheer you on – use this opportunity to spread the word!  Bachelors and Bachelorettes can enhance their impact by raising money for Children's Cancer Research Fund through pre-event fundraising efforts.  Let your friends and family that aren't able to attend support you!  Each Bachelor and Bachelorette will set their own fundraising goal, but the one that raise over $3500 will earn a 5 day/4 night stay at a luxury beach resort! Every dollar raised will make a difference in the lives of kids battling cancer.

What kind of attire should I wear?

We want you to be comfortable and feel your best – so wear whatever makes you feel the most confident! We’ve seen everything from jeans to cocktail attire but most of our participants “dress to impress”. Scroll through our event photos from previous years for inspiration.

Who benefits from the proceeds raised at Date For Life?

All proceeds from Date For Life go directly to the Children’s Cancer Research Fund in support of their efforts to eradicate childhood cancer.
